Cyanate Degradation in Different Matrices Using Heat-Purified Enzymes

چکیده

A green and low-cost removal method for cyanate, a toxic byproduct from the treatment of cyanide, is still needed. Cyanase converts cyanate to CO2 NH3, but its industrial practicality limited because reaction requires HCO3− as substrate. In this study, we used carbonic anhydrase Sulfurihydrogenibium azorense (SazCA) provide cyanase Thermomyces lanuginosus (TlCyn); both TlCyn SazCA were purified by one-step heating without prior cell lysis. The heat resulted in higher activities enzymes than conventional two-step process. From 50 mL-culture, highest total activity 147 U 47,174 WAU was obtained 5 min at 60 80 °C SazCA, respectively. coupled enzymatic system degrade three different matrices: mM Tris-HCl (pH 8), wastewater, artificial wastewater. with addition 0.75 (Wilbur-Anderson unit) degradation using 0.5 NaHCO3 similar that 3 NaHCO3, indicating an 83% reduction NaHCO3. We have demonstrated dependence on can be effectively alleviated heat-purified SazCA; therefore improved.

Mimicking respiratory phosphorylation using purified enzymes.

The enzymes of oxidative phosphorylation is a striking example of the functional association of multiple enzyme complexes, working together to form ATP from cellular reducing equivalents. These complexes, such as cytochrome c oxidase or the ATP synthase, are typically investigated individually and therefore, their functional interplay is not well understood. Here, we present methodology that al...

Cellulose degradation by oxidative enzymes

Enzymatic degradation of plant biomass has attracted intensive research interest for the production of economically viable biofuels. Here we present an overview of the recent findings on biocatalysts implicated in the oxidative cleavage of cellulose, including polysaccharide monooxygenases (PMOs or LPMOs which stands for lytic PMOs), cellobiose dehydrogenases (CDHs) and members of carbohydrate-...

Estimation of pyrolysis product of LDPE degradation using different process parameters in a stirred reactor

Pyrolysis of low density polyethylene (LDPE) by equilibrium fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) was studied in a stirred reactor under different process parameters. In this work, the effect of process parameters such as degradation temperature (420-510°C), catalyst/polymer ratio (0-60%), carrier gas type (H2, N2, ethylene, propylene, Ar and He), residence time and agitator speed (0-300 rpm) on the c...

Effect of Temperature and Metal Ions on Degradation of Oxytetracycline in Different Matrices

Composting is widely applied in animal manure treatment and reclamation. The degradation of organic pollutants during the composting treatment is attributed to two parallel processes: one is the bioprocess induced by the used microorganisms, and the other is the chemical process. In order to clarify the relative contribution of the chemical process to the compositing, in this paper, oxytetracyc...
